Dell Technologies Cork Hosts Minister Smyth’s AI Roadshow

Dell Technologies Cork recently hosted Minister of State for Trade Promotion, AI and Digital Transformation, Niamh Smyth TD, as part of the Government’s AI Works for Ireland roadshow.

The event brought together SMEs, local government representatives, educational partners and technology leaders to discuss the practical adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and the opportunities AI presents for businesses and communities across the region.

Joining Minister Smyth at the Dell Technologies Cork campus were Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Damian Boylan, and Mayor of Cork County, Cllr. Bernard Moynihan. The event was delivered in association with the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Local Enterprise Office Cork City and Local Enterprise Office South Cork.

Discussions focused on real-world examples of AI adoption by Irish businesses, highlighting how organisations are already using AI to drive innovation, productivity and growth. Attendees also explored the importance of digital skills, inclusion and collaboration in ensuring the benefits of AI are widely shared.

The programme featured a panel discussion with organisations already using AI across a range of sectors, providing practical insights into how businesses are leveraging the technology to enhance operations, improve productivity and unlock new opportunities. Participants also took part in breakout sessions focused on AI fundamentals, security and compliance, and the future of AI skills and education.
