Your job sounds interesting, what do you actually do?

I help the ACIA evolve its Agile Practice which was initially adopted in 2015. I work with all Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches and Scaled Agile Practitioners to continuously move, as close as possible, to a pure, mature and scaled agile model.

What will you be talking about at this event?

I will talk about the common pain points I’ve found when conducting an Agile Health Assessment, in a technology hub nestled within a global corporate parent structure.

What inspired you to speak at it?

Like many Agile Practitioners, I’m a strong believer in sharing lessons learned. I was inspired after a recent session with Facebook when I realised that even at their level, there’s always an opportunity to learn more.

I think the scenario I describe will encourage others in their own Agile journeys. Hopefully, they’ll see recurring themes in certain scenarios and pick up a few simple rules that can help them along the way.

How was 2016, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

My mission is to help the organisation evolve to overcome many hurdles. And people (understandably) have different appetites for change, both vertically and horizontally, throughout any business. It’s inevitable that some changes will cause discomfort for some. At times this can test your own belief. But I’m very fortunate to have an executive team who enthusiastically support what I do. This is a major asset to the mission’s success.
