DataSolutions, the specialist IT distributor, has announced that its IT Channel Champions Cup Football Tournament is returning for the first time since 2019 and invites those from the IT channel community to register for the event.
The five-a-side competition will kick off at 5pm on Thursday, 11th May, in Astro Park Tallaght (Greenhills Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24) and will be followed by a barbecue and refreshments for attendees.
Sponsored by IGEL Technology and Tech Central, the DataSolutions event will bring together partners, vendors and companies from the IT channel community to compete for the IT channel Champion Cup and the title of 2023 IT Channel Football Champions.
All proceeds raised by the event will go to Focus Ireland, a non-profit organisation that provides services and support to people impacted by or at risk of homelessness in Ireland. The charity aims to tackle one of the biggest issues facing Ireland with 11,632 people accessing emergency accommodation in Ireland as of December 2022.
Michael O’Hara, group managing director, DataSolutions, said: “Following the success of this competition in years gone by, we are absolutely delighted to be bringing our IT Channel Champions Cup Football Tournament back. We can’t wait to see all the teams there and expect this year’s event to bigger than ever before.
“As well as being a social event which brings together the IT channel and offers an opportunity for participants to network with industry peers, the tournament also raises funds for an extremely worthwhile cause and helps in the mission to end homelessness in Ireland.
“For me, like many others, getting a runabout and some exercise is also incredibly beneficial from a physical and mental health perspective. For all of these reasons, and the fact that the coveted title of 2023 IT Channel Football Champions is up for grabs, it’s time to get involved, get rid of the suits and get on those football boots!”
The football tournament is open to vendors, resellers and anyone in the IT channel ecosystem. The sporting competition will be followed by a barbecue for attendees and trophy presentation to the winning team.
Registration for the football tournament is €250 per team. If you would like to find out more, register a team or make a donation, please click here. You can also donate here.
