Cryptocurrency Investing For Dummies reviewed
This a thorough guide of the various ways to engage with the world of cryptocurrency. Danial goes through a series of areas, from what is a cryptocurrency, to why invest in them, while flagging early on the risks of cryptocurrencies. Then there is a deeper dive into what blockchain technologies are, and the nuts and bolts of how cryptocurrencies work, the role of brokers and the pros and cons of exchanges. This is well explained and the risks are outlined, though it feels like we are still in a fluid period for exchanges as they currently operate, with the longevity of some very much up for question, due to questionable trading practices.
She then covers how to use cryptocurrency wallets, an area that must be approached with great care, as if you make a mistake you may well never see those assets again. Danial then digs into the different types of cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, ether and beyond, before moving into the, much harder to call, top performing cryptocurrencies. There is a whole section on diversification of cryptocurrencies which seems like smart advice, eggs in one basket is a particularly risky strategy in this ecosystem.
Then she talks about getting ahead of the market by investing in ICOs. This is something that is currently very much in a state of flux. It will be interesting to see what advice is offered on this by the time of a second edition of this book a year or two down the road. Cryptocurrency mining is also covered, though some for currencies, like bitcoin this is no longer something accessible to the small operators.
#Litecoin reaches one-year-high and is on its way towards the 61% Fibonacci level of $173. Other #altcoins also opened this week with a rally, suggesting that the #crypto industry as a whole may be experiencing a fundamental change in value. $LTC $LTCBTC #CryptoNews pic.twitter.com/M2INhF94aO

Part 4 is completely dedicated to crypto strategies and tactics. Here you pretty much pay your money and take your choice. Danial offers some interesting ideas, and they are worth looking at, but some of the concepts, like resistance levels, trends and channels may only offer you so much advice or insights. Buying at the bottom is mentioned, if you can just work out what the bottom is. We are still in a world of massive crypto volatility, so coin values can still massively swing by 1000s or even tens of thousands in value. It is an interesting world, and if you get it right it could lead to fundamental life style changes, either way!
Read Danial’s book and enjoy the ride…
