What are you working on now?

I am writing my dissertation for a master’s degree in sculpture at Yeditepe University.  Parallel to this– with considerable success –I have been  entering and winning art contests  in Ireland;  painting bird art themed paintings;  which I have been showing at art shows around the World.

How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

We are in the midst of a Worldwide Coronavirus pandemic with riots erupting, people dying, businesses, failing all over the World at this time.  Needless to say, I have not been immune from the general challenging environment.  However,  on the up-side I have been channeling my energy positively,  into artistic  expression.

During the past year I participated in two group art shows.  One was at the end of last year  in Miami, USA.   The second  is the Atelier Teymur Rzayev’s First Digital Climate Change Art Show which was published by world’s first climate change museum, The Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change – Hong Kong and  is a registered digital event for UN’s World Environment and Oceans days on June 5 and 8 respectively.   I also just launched a digital solo art show titled “Bird Watching”   which will take place at the Pinelo Art Gallery in Istanbul, Turkey from June 5 to June 19, 2020, starting on World Environment Day to commemorate Biodiversity in Birds which are important plant pollinators and seed dispersers.

The inspiration behind the theme of my art show was  recently winning first prize at the nature art competition at Connemara National Park – Páirc Náisiúnta Chonamara in Ireland for my four paintings titled “Ravens – Four Seasons.” Also, my diverse bird artwork – all paintings that are included in this art show–  were selected and distributed via social media by the Biodiversity Department of the Department of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht of Ireland on Biodiversity Day on May 22, 2020.

These favorable blessings granted to me by the Irish Government,  especially in the midst of quarantines, illness, social unrest propelled me to prepare a uplifting digital art show “Bird Watching” that can be accessed digitally by viewers worldwide.  I am grateful.

What are your plans for the future?

In good health, I hope to continue making climate change themed art work and complete my master’s program at Yeditepe University.

What do you hope to express in your “Bird Watching” digital art exhibition?

Birds are important plant pollinators and seed dispersers.  Yet climate change results in  increased temperatures which directly affect bird populations reproduction, timing of breeding and migration patterns.  Via my “Bird Watching” digital art show I want to draw attention to our negative  impact on their lives.

How can people find out more about what you are working on?
