Creating a liquid market for objects, Mike Boutwell, CryptoAdvisors founder, Open Collectors advisor

By @SimonCocking, interview with Mike Boutwell, Founder at CryptoAdvisors.io and advisor to Open Collectors.

What is your background briefly?

Engineer and architect, and IT strategist for various telecommunications and financial organizations including T-systems (orange,t-mobile UK/everything everywhere) – engineer
First Data – senior engineer and architects
AT&T – senior architect

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

Assisting startups with their ICOs, strategy, and in some cases other technical aspects around their vision. These include Spectre.ai – general ICO advice and management of the security bounty program. Cryptoflix – technical ICO review, assistance with whitepaper, technical review and advice of aspects regarding the ICO (website security, best practices, etc)
NNBU (nnbu.io)- Medical device and blockchain integration, capability, use cases, and functionality.

Why did you get involved with this ICO?

The idea is unique, valuable, required, and yet seriously underused.

Why do you think it is such a powerful idea?

The OCN concept is powerful because a significant portion of the objects on earth are unique yet there is not an established mechanism to transact those objects with such a broad set of use cases. Moreover, the open source aspects will allow this concept to spread and for others to leverage the idea for their needs. This is valuable to anyone who has a unique object or owns something unique and wishes to track its ownership or monetize that object. Today, market makers in this space are largely closed off and usually very exclusive. Open Collectors Network has the ability to create a liquid market for objects that are today illiquid and that are in the hands of organizations that charge obscene fees for very little work.

What is your favourite use case?

My favourite use case is the digital media rights opportunity because the auction houses for these are typically very boutique in nature and only allow a specific set of individuals to have access to the opportunity to buy and sell digital asset rights. Open Collectors Network can break down this barrier and allow pretty much anyone, access to those opportunities.
