Cape Clear Island has had a long positive tradition of families moving from all over the world, to raise their children in the safety and peace of a small friendly island in Roaring Water Bay, West Cork. Ireland’s most Southerly inhabited location, beyond here you have only Fastnet and then the sea between you and Africa, South America or the US and Canada depending on which direction you choose to take.

Many children have had a safe, positive and memorable experience by doing their primary schooling on Cape Clear. With the current global pandemic that is COVID-19, many people are assessing what the risks will be of sending their children back to schools in September.
A new digital hub is about to open on the island which will make it even easier for digital nomads and remote workers. Cape Clear’s primary school, in collaboration with the local island Coop, Comhar na nOileán, are keen to welcome new children to the school. They want to let the world know that they are open for business in terms of welcoming more families to come to the island and enroll their children in the school.
Many previous families from the US, Germany, France, Poland, the UK, and other diverse locations have had positive experiences as their children thrived in the Irish speaking community. All previous children have quickly picked up the Irish language, helped by a dedicated language support teaching assistant who complements the work of the principal and assisted by the second teacher in the school.
The chairperson of the school is the person to contact if you are looking to find out more, and they also have information about possible options for housing too. Their email is [email protected] or [email protected]
We have been commissioned by the Cape Clear National School and Comhar na nOileán to help them promote living and educating on Cape Clear Island. If you would like us to promote your project or company drop us a line.
