ConneXions is a two-day event which concentrates on digital technology, culture and education in France and Ireland. It brings together French and Irish professionals, investors, students, accelerators and companies from these fields around the general topic of Digital & Creative City. What will the city of tomorrow be like? What type of interactions will occur between the sectors of digital technology, education and culture?

All actors in these fields are expected at this event, whether in digital technology (video games, augmented reality, Med’Tech, Smart Grids, connected objects…), education (Ed’Tech, training, research) and culture and entertainment (film, web creation, animation, performing arts, design, music…). ConneXions will allow them to present and showcase their innovations, meet future investors and discuss tomorrow’s challenges: ConneXions is the perfect opportunity to build new partnerships and develop innovative projects!

The forum is free of charge and consists of several events, including talks and round-table seminars from professionals in the sectors of digital technology, culture, and education, an exhibition space for companies and start-ups to showcase their activities and projects, and B-to- B meetings between French and Irish businesses to find new partners. In parallel to the main events, hackers can explore new solutions for the city of tomorrow in a hackathon.

ConneXions is an event organised by the Embassy of France in Ireland, in partnership with Business France and the French Tech Dublin Community. It takes place from Friday 29th September to Sunday 1st October 2017 at Richmond Barracks, Dublin 8.

At the same time and running parallel to the event, a two day hackathon will bring together around 30 participants. During this challenge, teams of participants with various levels of expertise from the different fields targeted will compete around a specific topic dealing with digital technology and its relationship to the city.

Hack your city! Urban renewal and digital technology to shape tomorrow’s city!

No need to be a hacker to attend the hackathon! Participants just need to get their heads together and feel like joining a team of people to plan, design and develop a project within a short timespan! Afraid of not having all the information or enough knowledge in these areas? Event partners, including Dublin City Council and Fáilte Ireland, will share specific data to give the teams a comprehensive overview on the next generation of tourism, urban renewal with past innovations and information on smart cities, Dublin 8 and the projects led in this area in terms of culture, education, infrastructures and businesses among others.
