ConnectIreland event discusses what Ireland has to offer startups

Navigating Ireland’s startup scene is the focus of today’s ConnectIreland’s sold-out event as part of Startup Gathering week.

Companies who have established bases in Ireland with the help of ConnectIreland are among those who will impart their wisdom at the event. Also giving his guidance to those in the startup space is Vice President of Internet of Things at Intel, Philip Moynagh, a connector and firm believer in making rewarding connections.

Running from 2pm to 4.30pm at the ConnectIreland offices, 14 Stephen’s Green, Dublin, speakers on the day include Andrew Parish, ConnectIreland and IP Activation Group; Cilian Fennell, Stillwater Communications; Bryan Harrigan, Absorb Media; David Moran, Bloom Equity; Brian Warner, 6D Global; and Intel’s Philip Moynagh.

Focusing on the three themes of the Startup Gathering – Start, Scale, Succeed – ConnectIreland’s event draws on the experiences of companies that have already navigated this terrain.

Absorb Media and 6D Global both announced the launch of their European operations in Dublin earlier this year with the help of ConnectIreland. Together the companies are creating over 70 jobs in Dublin. They will discuss what shaped their reasons for choosing Ireland as an international hub, as well as how the process worked.

Cilian Fennell of Stillwater Communications works with startups and accelerators to help hone their stories and mission statements into an appropriate and easily understood format. Cilian will give an insight into how to get your company story right.

To date in his career, David Moran of Bloom Equity has experienced four successful ‘exits’. On the day he will give an insight into the best shortcuts for any scaling business focused on a successful exit.

Interest in this free event was so high that places filled up within hours.

Joanna Murphy, CEO ConnectIreland, said “It is great to see such an interest in the startup space and in particular people looking at how they can, not just start, but scale and continue to grow. We are delighted to be involved with the Startup Gathering and look forward to sharing some insights on how we, together with IDA Ireland, work with expanding international companies and startups.”

ConnectIreland delivers the Succeed in Ireland initiative in partnership with IDA Ireland.
