Tarifica, a leading provider of telecom plan and pricing data to the worldwide telecommunications industry, has announced that the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg), the regulatory agency responsible for overseeing the telecommunications market in Ireland, has selected Tarifica’s Telecom Pricing Intelligence Platform to facilitate its ongoing analysis of the Irish market, including in comparison to 15 other countries.
The Telecom Pricing Intelligence Platform, which includes Tarifica’s proprietary, multi-country auto-benchmarking feature, will allow ComReg to track all mobile network operators (MNOs), leading broadband service providers, and key mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) in Ireland and the other countries. The platform captures data covering every price and every feature of every plan, including bundles and promotions, and offers a suite of visualizations that will help ComReg better understand the state of telecom services and pricing both at home and abroad.
ComReg will be deploying Tarifica’s industry-leading system in support of its mandate to ensure consumers in Ireland receive the best value for their money. The Telecom Pricing Intelligence Platform will enable the regulator to make more informed decisions by providing its staff with comprehensive information on the state of the market in Ireland and in comparison with other countries, as well as by highlighting areas where competition can be improved. Tarifica’s data will also be available for use in future ComReg studies analyzing the Irish market from a pricing perspective.
Soichi Nakajima, Tarifica’s Vice President of Data and Analysis commented, “Tarifica looks forward to supporting ComReg with this important mandate and we’re committed to providing the data and insights needed to ensure a competitive, innovative, and healthy telecom market in Ireland.”
Richard Dorfman, Tarifica’s CEO added, “We’re honored to have ComReg as a partner and are delighted to count them among the growing list of regulatory agencies around the world that rely on our data and technologies to maintain competitive and reasonably priced markets. This partnership underscores the value of the Telecom Pricing Intelligence Platform in helping regulatory agencies fulfill their mandates and ensure the best outcomes for consumers.”
Tarifica’s Telecom Pricing Intelligence Platform is a vital tool for national regulators, NGOs, telecom operators, and other key industry participants globally, providing them with transparency and mission critical insights to support informed decision-making in the ever-changing telecom market. Tarifica is committed to delivering the insights and tools that these industry participants need to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving environment.
The system being delivered to ComReg includes data from the following countries in addition to Ireland: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
