Comreg has secured a High Court order for Vodafone to pay it 400,000 euro for failing to comply with the EU data roaming cap. The cap restricts spending on data while roaming in the EU to 61.50euro (Incl. VAT). It was alleged that vodafone had put some customers on a 300euro cap resulting in bill shock for some customers. Vodafone has also agreed to pay the court costs of Comreg. Vodafone had said they were disappointed with Comreg’s stance as other regulators had facilitated some flexibility on caps to meet the needs of some customers on certain packages. It’s great to know that companies like Vodafone are looking out for us as customers and helping us spend more with them isn’t it. Comreg’s report is published here:
