Jobbio’s Codefest: Mastercard Edition will take place on April 10th in Dublin at the Royal Dublin Society. Hosted by Jobbio HIGHER Festival, the codefest is also an official part of the Dublin Tech Summit.
How many years has it been going?
This year will mark the first time Jobbio’s Codefest: Mastercard Edition will take place.
What was the inspiration to start it?
Mastercard is currently searching for new candidates to join their Dublin team and saw this codefest as an opportunity to take a more unconventional route to recruitment — one that is more hands-on for participants and allows Mastercard to see the skills of potential prospects in real-time, as well as how they work individually.What exciting things can people look forward to?
Since the codefest is an official part of the Jobbio HIGHER Festival and the Dublin Tech Summit, participants can look forward to working in the middle of all the action at The Royal Dublin Society, working directly with Mastercard stakeholders, networking at the Jobbio HIGHER Festival and the Dublin Tech Summit.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
The top three winners will secure an interview with Mastercard and prepaid cards and will receive prepaid cards, with the amounts varying between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Details below:
1st place: prepaid card worth 1,000 euros + guarantee of an interview
2nd place: prepaid card worth 500 euros + guarantee of an interview
3rd place: prepaid card worth 250 euros + guarantee of an interview

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
If you are travelling from outside of Dublin to participate in the codefest, you should be open to the possibility of relocating to Dublin for work.
Although this is a fun one-day challenge, this is also a recruitment event that could secure you a new job, so get ready to showcase your talent and coding skills
