It is a one-off event to raise awareness about these opportunities.

What was the inspiration to start it?

A delegation visiting from Chengdu High Tech Zone (CDHT) consisting of zone directors and business representatives would like to promote the zone’s development of new technologies and seek partnerships with Irish tech companies

What exciting things can people look forward to?

A free introduction and footstep into a major tech hub on the “Belt and Road” economic trail – the city of Chengdu had a GDP of RMB 1.39 trillion as of 2017. The zone specialises in various fields including software, biotech, finance, and aeronautics.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

The event will end with an opportunity to network with the visiting businesses and there will be an open discussion during the seminar. Any Irish businesses interested in a particular Chengdu company that is visiting can contact ConnectChina to ensure that they have some one-to-one time with a business of their interest. We want to make the event as productive as possible for all visiting parties.

Who will be speaking?

Leaders from CDHT and a VIP guest who will give an introduction to the current cooperation status between Irish and Chinese industries.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

First find out if there is a business you would like to meet with in particular (see list of companies attached). Come prepared to engage with the Chengdu delegation at the end, so as to find out as much as possible and to make the best impression with any interested parties.
