CeADAR is helping Irish companies to accelerate their adoption of AI through its Work Ready Graduate Training Programme.

The programme places data science graduates with CeADAR member companies for 12 months to help them kick-start or accelerate their AI journey.

Ireland’s National Centre for Applied AI is now calling on companies to get in touch if they want to get involved in the programme, which is partly funded by Enterprise Ireland.

During the programme, each participant is managed by and gets mentorship from a dedicated senior data scientist within CeADAR.

CeADAR member companies get the benefit of having a dedicated resource backed up by CeADAR’s AI and analytics expertise.

The programme, which will commence in October, is aimed at delivering impact to Irish businesses and supporting them in establishing and progressing their data-driven agenda.

It previously ran in 2018 and 2020 when, each year, 10 graduates were placed in IDA and EI companies that are members of CeADAR. The programme has been expanded this year to cater for 13 graduates.

CeADAR created the programme because of a resourcing gap in the market particularly for SMEs in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics as they plan to exploit the power of AI. By pinpointing talented graduates and supporting them in their first year in the workplace the programme aims to supercharge the impact they have on their companies.

The need for such a programme was demonstrated by the fact that 153 people applied for the 10 places available in 2020. All of the successful applicants had a Master’s in Computer Science with the majority also having a number of years’ experience in the workplace. A Master’s qualification is a minimum requirement for this year’s programme.

Companies can get in touch with CeADAR at [email protected] to register their interest in the programme.

CeADAR Centre Director Dr Edward McDonnell said:

“Our previous Work Ready Graduate Training programmes in AI were overwhelmingly successful for both companies and graduates. We are delighted that Enterprise Ireland is supporting the expanded programme this year and we expect the programme to be enthusiastically taken-up by companies in Ireland. Companies should get in touch with us to register their interest.”
