Tomorrow, Carphone Warehouse celebrates 18 years in business in Ireland. In 1996, the first Carphone Warehouse began trading on Dublin’s Grafton Street and since then they’ve opened over 90 outlets nationwide.
Carphone Warehouse employs over 650 people in the Republic of Ireland. On August 7, 2014 Dixons and Carphone Warehouse officially merged to become one business. Dixons Carphone now has 119 stores nationwide and employs 1050 staff in the Republic of Ireland.
The Irish business is led by Managing Director, Peter Scott, who commented on the upcoming birthday:
“It’s a great testimony to our staff and valued customers that we are here today to mark Carphone Warehouse’s 18th Birthday. Technology changes everyday and we want to continue to create an exciting retail environment where our customers can learn about mobile technology and find the device that is right for them. The world is changing at an amazing pace and at Carphone Warehouse we want our customers to be connected in a way that genuinely improves their lives”.
