When and where is it on?

Career Zoo will take place on Saturday, 29th September from 10am to 4.30pm at the CHQ Building and Dogpatch Labs at 1 Custom House Quay in Dublin’s North Docklands. Admission is free.

Employers will be on the ground floor at CHQ and our main stage will be hosted by Dogpatch Labs upstairs.

How many years has it been going?

We have been leading the way in helping to connect job seekers and Ireland’s best companies for 8 years. January 2010 was our first event. This will be our 16th Career Zoo event. We have a new regional event taking place in Sligo on the 12th October called ‘Tech on the Wild Atlantic Way’.

What was the inspiration to start it?

The event has come a long way. In the depths of the recession we realised there was a need for an event that brought together employers and candidates with the right skill sets. There was a queue of people out the door and many of those had unfortunately lost their jobs or were graduates looking for their first jobs and finding it difficult.

The landscape has transformed since the first couple of events as the economy has improved, with all the power now in job-seekers’ hands. Career Zoo has always been about creating meaningful connections between employers and job-seekers. We are seeing that candidates are really experienced, know who they want to work with, are very mobile and also want flexibility.  Attitudes towards work are changing and the exploding tech landscape in Ireland means that people can have the freedom to find quality tech jobs throughout Ireland and not just in Dublin.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Attendees can look forward to networking with peers, experiencing employer R&D demonstrations and hearing the latest insights from industry leaders in our panel sessions which will run throughout the day.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

Leading tech and pharma employers including EY, Pramerica, Amazon Web Services, Grifols, Huawei, amongst others will be at Career Zoo to hire experienced professionals for senior roles in tech, engineering, finance, biotech, sales, professional services and other areas.

Who will be speaking?

Industry leaders will be taking part in panel discussions and workshops, all hosted by Jess Kelly, Tech Correspondent and presenter of Tech Talk on Newstalk.
