Good news for those who now do their grocery shopping online. buymie, Ireland’s leading same-day grocery delivery provider, has announced that the €4.99 delivery fee will be waived on orders over €40 at Dunnes Stores, starting Thursday the 21st of January until Sunday the 21st of February.

Buymie is the only platform to deliver the full range of in-store products from multiple retailers on the same platform with no maximum basket limits. It also offers over 25 times more product options on its app than any other service in the country.

Dunnes Stores shoppers can now avail of a significant range of different grocery products across all categories, delivered from the safety of their home. Buymie’s dedicated personal shoppers keep in touch with the customer via phone calls to suggest replacements for out of stock items and can notify the customer of the expected delivery time.

Devan Hughes, CEO & Co-Founder of Buymie said, “Reducing all our movements is vital now more than ever and Buymie’s same-day grocery delivery service has become essential for those at high risk or time poor especially with the return of homeschooling. With the support of our retail partner, Dunnes Stores, we have made the decision to waive the €4.99 delivery charge for our service to support our customers in staying safe, while doing the week’s shop and still have access to the variety of goods they have come to expect. I feel that it is down to local Irish businesses to do what we can when we can to support our local communities during this stressful time.”

Hughes added, “With the news, Ireland would return to lockdown in January 2021 same-day slots filled up faster than anticipated as we are now trading 600% ahead of the same period last year. However, we have also been able in January to nearly double our personal shopper network to meet this demand and ensure the satisfaction of regular and new customers, while also allowing users to book a dedicated 1-hour slot to plan their week ahead safely.”

To access the service, users can download the Buymie app from the Apple iOS app store, or from the Google Play store onto a mobile device. Once registered, customers can select to shop for groceries within the Dunnes Stores online grocery store. Buymie customers have no limitation on basket size and access to the very best of Dunnes Stores product range. A personal shopper is then appointed, allowing for seamless communication during the shopping process, and ensuring the best substitutions and highest quality fresh produce are selected.
