How are you different?

There are dating apps, friendship apps, and anonymous apps, however we are unique in that we have one match, for life. We do not attempt to describe the nature of your relationship with your match. We provide the introduction. The onus is on the two participants to actually form and build the relationship.

Why will the company / product do well?

We believe that people strongly desire meaningful connections — In an age with hundreds of connections we are aiming to form one, one which we hope will become special. We appeal to those who embrace adventure and are excited by the unknown.

Where are you based?

We are based in San Francisco, California.

When was the company launched?

Rendezwho has been in development for several months, the product will launch live in the app store on February 10th.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

Taking the concept, from a notion that two people can meet without any direct interaction into a fully functional app. Over the last two months we have added features to exchange music with your match and gifs, enriching the in app experience.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

While we think our app will attract millennials ready for a new adventure, we are also targeting people going through a transition in life. We think Rendezwho is a great way to escape, a unique adventure with a specific goal in mind.

Tell us about your team?

Adil has a masters degree and 15 years experience working in computer science. Candy has a background in digital marketing and has worked in social services for many years.

It’s the beauty of random and fate that led my co-founder and I to create Rendezwho, a friendship app that matches you with only one person- ever. You can’t see them and you can’t talk to them.Knowing only your person’s proximity, the goal is to find them. While you look, get to know them through the question of the day, music and gifs!
Rendezwho is about meeting someone new, we created it based on the idea that there is someone out there, looking for you as you are looking for them.  Quite simply, the purpose is to make a friend you wouldn’t have made otherwise.
What are you long term plans for your product / company?

We are planning on working on an Android version of our product next. Long term we would like to be the source of many new friendships, we also want people to consider finding their Rendezwho as a rite of passage — one they look forward to and embrace.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

Besides my iphone, I am a huge fan of my Apple tv — My preferred way to watch tv these days is to binge watch!

What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?

I think there is great potential in the Apple watch — I think the voice recognition on it needs to improve in order to provide a better overall user experience, I am confident Apple will get there in the future.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

One of the very unique features about Rendezwho is that we ban users who do not answer a question every 15 days. We think this creates a better environment for our existing users because they can be assured that the person on the other side truly is committed to meeting them.
