Describe the company – the elevator pitch…

Reflex Pillow is a partnership between back&neck specialist Noel O’Connor, the creator of the pillow and Dutec ltd, a global supply chain company based in limerick.

Reflex Pillow is the result of 15 years of research and development and has the potential to reduce or eradicate neck and back pain, however it  has also  proven to be very beneficial to people suffering from sleep apnoea, as well as teeth grinding, snoring and insomnia.

How are you different?

Reflex Pillow’s revolutionary design is a result of 15 years research and development. It is a patented, CE Marked, medically approved device. The pillow has a scientific background with the health of the person in mind, the patented shape is such that it reduces and removes the need for ongoing therapy for back and neck issues of a mechanical nature because it addresses the anatomical, neurological, vascular and lymphatic considerations with proven results.

The pillow has been designed to position your spine in its correct alignment when you sleep. Mattresses may support your lower spine but the upper spine neck area requires more support as this is the area where most soft tissue and muscle damage occurs. Reflex Pillow uses specially formulated foam that holds its shape. One of the added benefits of this “reflex foam” is its ability to keep your head cool while you sleep due to its open cell formulated properties. What sets it apart from other pillows are the two head dips on the top side which are divided by a ridge in the centre of the pillow which prevents head roll while you sleep. These head dips are for those who lie on their sides. The centre ridge which prevents head roll is very important as it keeps your whole spine in its correct alignment. The front side of the pillow has a shoulder slot and neck support which is designed to fit your shoulder thus creating a cradle for your neck.

Why will the company / product do well?

There is without a doubt a huge gap in the market for a product which reduces or eradicates neck and back pain, snoring and other sleep issues. No other pillow does this.

Already 1500 users have tried Reflex Pillow and have had positive results

Where are you based?

The inventor Noel O’Connor works from a clinic based in Cork. Reflex Pillow operates from Dutec ltd in Limerick

Reflex Pillow is €58 euro excluding p&p.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

1500 happy patients are already using the pillow and there are already orders from Turkey and Dubai

So far €10,000 of the €45,000 Kickstarter target has already been raised.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

The product will be pitched to hospitals, hotels, and distribution networks within other healthcare areas. Reflex Pillow is aimed at people with back and neck issues and a range of sleep disorders including sleep apnoea, teeth grinding and insomnia. However, prevention is also key here. The majority of people sleep on a pillow that does not support their back and neck thus incorrectly aligning the body while asleep which is the cause of most back/neck issues.

98% of good quality sleep is a result of the pillow you sleep on, so Reflex Pillow is a product that will benefit everyone with pre-existing issues and those without.
