RecoHero is the new quality-driven global marketplace specialised in smart wearable technology devices. By connecting worldwide startups with tech lovers, RecoHero gives users access to cutting-edge products, while startups take advantage of our innovative business model to get the word out and expand internationally without taking financial risks.

Can you give an example of a product available on RecoHero?

Our very first product was K’asq Sport, the second version of PKParis’ smart wireless in-ear buds. The product is quite similar yet cheaper than Apple Airpods, specially designed for sports/fitness and compatible with both iOS and Android.

Another popular product is a tiny GPS beacon with motion detection for cars and motorbikes, which collects its precise location throughout Europe (see SIGFOX network) and displays it at any time on your phone.

Why will you do well?

We have been focusing on developing an automated system in order to reduce the amount of daily management, meaning we are able to dedicate more human ressources on amplifying the system rather than spending time operating it on a daily basis.  This approach enables us to implement new features faster, scale quicker and stay ahead of competitors while focusing on responding to our users’ needs and expectations through our optimised custom-built service. Furthermore, our flexible business model allows us to stay lean and iterate our strategy quickly whenever needed.

We have been working hard to make our service simple for our users since early 2016 and the majority of the challenges are now behind us. We have recently received inquiries from investors, our team is growing (we are hiring in tech and digital marketing at the moment) as well as our community : worldwide users have pre-signed up to our website before our launch (by the way for those of you who haven’t, there is still time to claim your free welcome gift voucher). We have received pre-orders and donations through our crowdfunding campaigns and our targetted social media campaigns are going very well.  Where are you based?

Our main office is based in Dublin, Ireland, at the Liffey Trust Enterprise Center near the IFSC. We also have a subsidiary in Paris, France and are planning to open another one in the USA in late 2018 – early 2019.

 When was the company launched?

The company was officially set up in February 2016.

 What have been your biggest wins to date?

Most certainly the ability to build the team with link-minded ambitious individuals, partners and investors to make this project come to life.

Our CEO’s strategy was to create B2B partnerships and build a B2C community through a strong communication and marketing plan during our pre-launch phase, while simutaneously developing the web platform, in order to be flexible and make iterations to the tech depending on our users’ needs and demands. We can congratulate ourselves to having done just that, and are proud of developing a coherent, quality-oriented custom-built service, made by and for our users.

Who are you trying to attract to your product?

RecoHero’s doors are now open and everyone is welcome to take part in our early-stage growth ( launched on November 1st). Our first products are smart wearable devices and therefore are mainly – but not exclusively – directed to tech lovers/early-adopters.

In the other hand, in today’s economic context where flexibility and chosen-time work are appropriate responses to today’s worldwide unemployment issues, we strongly believe that RecoHero will help many individuals to become more independent and more comfortable financially thanks to our smart and simple referral system.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Don’t think about the idea too much and make it happen. Test, analyse, iterate and repeat the process until you get it right. RecoHero has evolved a lot, since the first idea in 2016 to what we are building today. From our point of view, the most successful businesses are the ones which take their users’ opinions into consideration and succeed at iterating the original idea to deliver the most qualitative product and/or service.

What are your plans for the future?

We have designed a clear long-term vision of the best ways to match our users’ expectations and needs. Our next step is to listen to our users’ feedback and optimise our business model accordingly, while improving our service by gradually adding features to our existing platform. In regards to the products available on the marketplace, we’ll focus on quality smart wearable technology until late 2018 or so, and thereafter gradually increase our product range depending on our users’ requests and market trends.
