By @SimonCocking. Portboost the Startup Developers. We are where Startups come to build their MVP, on time and on budget.

Describe the company?

Portboost positions themselves as the MVP development company for bootstrapped startups. We are where Startups come to create…on time and on budget.

How are you different?

We are the only Development/Designer company that caters to bootstrapped startups. We have multiple teams of some of the top overseas developers in the world to work with.

Why will the company/product do well?

Our company connects the best web and mobile developers in the world with quality local clients that fit within a budget. What makes PortBoost a game-changer is that it’s extremely tough to find highly-skilled overseas developers that can also fit within a budget. You either pay poorly and get poor work, or pay a very large amount for quality work. We combine the best of both worlds.

Where are you based?

Los Angeles

When was the company launched?

Unofficially in November 2015, officially launched January 2016.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

After coming up with the idea, three weeks later we had a signed contract to build our first tech startup; a social media site based out of Arizona. Two weeks after launching officially we received our second client.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

Tech startups bootstrapping their project that need a reliable development team that understands the startup culture.

Tell us about your team?

We have 5 teams overseas; our main team is based in Nepal, incredibly talented group of devs and designers, I have worked with them multiple times prior to creating a company with them as our Head Dev Team.

What are you long term plans for your product / company?

The long term plans are to scale the company enough to be able to fund other startup ventures, including NodeBomb: “Linkedin for Software Developers” www.nodebomb.com

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

I’m not a big tech gadget guy…the smartphone would be my answer.

What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?

The first tech gadget that comes to mind is an app…a particular app idea I plan to build in the near future.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

In my spare time when I’m not geeking out in tech, I love training in muay thai and jiu jitsu. Huge fan of combat sports; Conor McGregor is my favorite athlete by far, absolutely inspired by his mindset and approach to the game. Knowing this is an Irish publication, made being a part of this interview that much more exciting.
