Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
Pest Pulse (www.pestpulse.com) is a technology-led pest control services company that is using smart devices and software to offer a superior pest control service with a disruptive operational model.
How are you different?
The pest control industry today services commercial customers with regular scheduled visits that are reliant on manual labour, paper reporting and increasingly restricted toxic poisons. We use eco-friendly smart devices to monitor our customer sites 24/7. When there is a trigger, this data is instantly relayed to our platform and we dispatch a technician to solve the issue before it becomes a major problem. We do this at the same price that customers currently pay.
Why will you do well?
The industry is huge but the incumbents utilise very little technology in their offering. We put technology to the core of our package of smart devices, software and service. We believe that this is an increasingly attractive proposition for pest control commercial customers
Where are you based?
Our head office is in Dublin. We are a remote team too with staff scattered around other European cities.
When was the company launched?
We have been building Pest Pulse (www.pestpulse.com) since September 2017.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
Our biggest win has been launching with initial customers our complete package of end-to-end hardware/software and technician servicing offering.
Who are you trying to attract to your product?
We aspire to be the market-leading pest control company, servicing anyone with pest control needs. We’re primarily starting with commercial customers though, for example, restaurants / bars / cafes, factories, retail, hotels, offices, apartment blocks and more.
Tell us about your team?
Pest Pulse has a great team to make the most of this opportunity. Tim has worked in the pest control industry for a number of years, in addition to Google and eBay. Wassim has developed IOT devices for customers like Intel and AT&T. John, Alex and Moritz have built SAAS and logistics platforms for companies that include Grubhub, Intercom and Paddy Power. And Brian has scaled multiple venture-based startups including Irish fintech company CurrencyFair and food-delivery-as-a-service company Zoomer.
What are your plans for the future?
We want to always offer the best service for customers through a technology-led approach that includes innovative smart devices and best-in-class software. Our roadmap sees us continuing to build out our suite of pest control smart devices and software features.
