How are you different?
Novosco’s mission statement is to be the Fearless Champions of Better and we relentlessly support our team to embody this. This means that we continually get better; as people, as teams, and as a company, for the benefit of our customers.
It sounds like a cliché, but Novosco take such great care and pride in attracting the best, most talented people to join our company. We firmly believe that because we have a happy, enthused, and dedicated team, our customers are also dedicated, enthused and happy. Our employees know that our company cares, which is why they care so much too.
Why will the company do well?
To put it as simply as possible because we have an unparalleled level of expertise in what we do. . We approach each client and project with the respect they deserve, we listen to our customers and deliver a solution that meets their requirements.

Where are you based?
Novosco’s headquarters are in Belfast’s famous Titanic Quarter. Our office directly overlooks the Thompson Dry Dock, where the Titanic sat prior to her first (and final) voyage. We also have offices in Cork, Dublin, and our English headquarters which are based near Manchester.
When was the company launched?
The origins of the business are in 1994; we started with a company called Real Time Systems,
and in 2007 merged with 4sol. Novosco was then created. Since July 2007, we’ve grown from
35 staff to 150 staff, we’ve also gone from about a £4 million annual turnover to around £30
In 2016 we acquired an English firm, NetDef. We realised that security was becoming significantly more important with regards to infrastructure in the projects that we were undertaking. We therefore needed to have an even-more developed skill-set in that area. We met with the team from NetDef and we really liked their business and loved what they were doing and their capabilities. When they talked to us initially, they made it very
clear that they felt our company culture was a very good fit with theirs.

What have been your biggest wins to date?
Novosco have so many great clients and projects. However, what we’re most proud of is
every person that has come to work for the company and how they’ve developed, improved
and benefited significantly from the experience.
We are also continuing to grow our business with some great organisations. For example, we recently announced a £10million contract award with Notting Hill Housing to manage their IT services and a seven-figure deal with Village Hotel Club to manage their infrastructure.
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Novosco’s key markets are varied; ranging from NHS trusts, housing associations, and educational institutions, to food production, the financial services industry, and many others.
Tell us about your team?
Novosco have a great team of experts who are dedicated to what they do and a pleasure to work with. I’m proud to be part of a team of professionals who are not only experts in their field, but are also committed to providing the highest levels of expertise and customer service.
Together, we are on a journey to build the very best managed cloud provider in the UK and Ireland. Our people have an unrivalled level of consultancy and technical ability. And by investing more than double the industry average in training and development, we aim to maintain and build on that position.
We are committed to our clients and our people, but also to our community, as we consider ourselves an important part of the social and economic fabric of the communities in which we operate. We run a whole range of events, such as sponsoring a 10K race series, the Novosco 10K, and organising a ‘Cloud Camp’ for teenagers to get early experience and exposure to cloud computing. We also regularly participate in activities to support causes that need assistance, like a cyclathon to raise funds to fight bowel cancer, or a fun day for Comic Relief.
What are your long term plans for your product / company?
Our plans are to continue to grow and develop our business in the UK and Ireland, but most importantly to continue to deliver a great service to our customers.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
I do a bit of running, so I’m quite fond of my Fitbit Surge because it gives me GPS as well as other data. I carry around a MacBook Pro and an iPad, because I like switching between different devices as and when I need to. I’m very interested in all sorts of things. I have an HDMI matrix at home that I use for broadcasting TV around the house, HDMI over Cat5. I’ve also recently become very interested in a technology called Freevolt which has the ability to power a device using radio frequency (RF) energy from wireless and broadcast networks such as 2G, 3G, 4G, WiFi & Digital TV, meaning the device doesn’t need a battery. I think this will be incredibly interesting for the IoT of the future. VR is something I’m a big fan of too. We have a VR suite in our new Novosco headquarters, and it’s a great way to unwind and have fun at work, all part of providing a great working environment for the team.
