Describe the company – the elevator pitch …

Myki is a mobile application that allows users to seamlessly and securely store and manage passwords as well as personal information such as credit cards, government IDs and secure notes. Myki allows you to login to accounts using your fingerprint or FACE ID. Myki does not store user sensitive data in the cloud. Your data remains in your possession and is stored uniquely on your smartphone.

How are you different?

Unlike most password and data protection solutions available on the market which rely on the Cloud, Myki securely stores your passwords and sensitive data offline, on your smartphone. The Myki app acts as a vault that stores an encrypted copy of your passwords and sensitive data. The vault can be unlocked with your fingerprint, Face ID, or a pin code. Your passwords are not stored in the Cloud, which prevents hackers from gaining access to your accounts in case a server is compromised. Passwords are not saved on the cloud, Myki servers, nor any other place that could be a soft target for security attacks. It relies on point to point military grade encryption to securely push passwords from phone to computer.

Why will you do well?

We offer a truly unique service than all other options available on the market. Myki provides the convenience of the cloud without the associated risks by distributing sensitive information across user’s smartphones in a decentralized manner. We are operating in a fast growing market. The Cyber Security market is growing 11% year on year and set to reach $232 trillion by 2022. Global spending on Cyber Security products and services are predicted to exceed $1 trillion over the next five years, from 2017 to 2021.

Where are you based?
Myki is based in Beirut, Lebanon but our user base is truly global.
The top 5 countries in terms of active users include: USA, UK, Norway, Germany, and Australia.

When was the company launched?Myki was founded in 2015 by my Co-Founder Antoine Jebara and I.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

Myki was the first MENA-based company to be selected to compete in TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield San Francisco in 2016, for Myki’s launch out of private Beta. Since then, our user base has tripled completely organically and we were recently named Forbes Top 100 most innovative companies of 2017.

Who are you trying to attract to your product?

Myki is both for businesses and individuals who understand the importance of digital identity management as well as data and password protection. We want users to regain control of their data.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Building your own business starts with identifying an opportunity that you can address in a unique manner. Spot a gap in the market and go for it.

Cultivate the ability to accept the unknown. If you are going to make the decision to switch from being an employee to being your own boss and a leader to your team, you need to be prepared to take risks.

Roll up your sleeves and work hard: Building a business takes focus, dedication and a lot of endurance.

Tell us about your team?

Our Motto is: “Be lifelong learners and tinkerers”, a true testament to each and every one of the 14 team members who continuously strive to make Myki a market leader.

Antoine and I have very cross functional skills, making us a great combo! We split leadership and management. While Antoine leads the product vision and execution for Myki, I lead Myki’s operations for business development and outreach; somebody has to keep the ship well oiled!

What are your plans for the future?

Our mission is to define the future of digital identity. We have an ambitious product and partnership roadmap for the next 12 to 18 months. Just last week, we announced the launch out of Beta of “Myki for Teams.” which allows company administrators to manage their team’s passwords and access to company-owned accounts in real time. We will be announcing a significant product partnership in the new year.
