How are you different?
iPOLPO is an anonymous world-wide marketplace for everybodies photos. The photos are sorted by TIME and LOCATION this combination of tags is unique to iPOLPO. iPOLPO also has an advance unique algorithm that gives users option to track their path and all photos taken near them are extracted for an easy browsing experience. Furthermore our business model is unique, because our app is not monetized through in-app advertising but instead we take a portion of the sales.

Why will the company / product do well?
iPOLPO is the only photo app that engages with a possible monetary reward all persons taking photos of any event they are witnessing(such as news, paparazzi-style or sporting event) iPOLPO is the only app that connects all its users by time and location.
Where are you based?
We are a new startup based in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada
When was the company launched?
The idea was conceptualized while sailing last November 2015 when one of the partners took a great photo of another sailboat in the Vancouver Harbor and thought “wouldn’t it be great if i could share this photo with them without yelling my personal email at them across the bay”… we quickly realized that this was a big untapped hole in the photo selling and sharing market.
Before iPOLPO there were three main types of photo selling services:
a)Photo stock sites: such a Getty Images (they only sort photos by topic)
b)News photographers or paparazzi: they have their media contacts to sell their photos to and this is a difficult circle to break into
c)”for hire” photographer services: such as Marathon photos, that are hired to take candid photos of the participants and need three to five days to post/process their photos by tagging the bib numbers within their photos.
With iPOLPO APP and website photos can be uploaded instantly and are posted by TIME and LOCATION so they are easily found by anyone who may be interested in that particular event/place and time.
We began building the website in January 2016 and the IOS APP build began in late March 2016.

What have been your biggest wins to date?
Recently Michael Arrington (tech crunch founder) commented that our app “looks pretty cool”!
Also a few times now connecting the photographer to the buyer and receiving our first few sales!
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Our vision for the iPOLPO App is global, our goal is to connect all photographers to a world-wide market of media/news and persons looking for a photo related to a specific event at a specific location. However, our campaign focus is on the West coast near Vancouver, Canada and on social media.
Tell us about your team?
DALE DENIS : As a software engineer over the past 16 years Dale has developed a variety of software systems including a custom enterprise management system that was a critical and valued asset in the purchase of a company by Panasonic. He has also developed software for embedded systems, designed websites, and developed a Unicode capable, regular expression compiler for fast pattern matching in text. Dale has a B.A. in Business Administration, a B.Tech in Computer Software Systems and an M.Sc. in Computer Science.
REINHARDT KUMPOLT: Reinhardt is a prairie born entrepreneur that started a successful company marketing specialized industrial equipment. The company which has a national presence is still overseen by Reinhardt. Reinhardt brings with him a financial and management background which will prove invaluable in iPOLPO’s future success.
KATIA STANO: is a successful costume designer with 20years experience within the film and television industry. She is taking a leave from production to help grow the iPOLPO brand and ensure its success through creative marketing.
What are you long term plans for your product / company?
To get to a level of comfort with our users that our services become an automatic part of their daily routine and exchange of photos like Instagram or Facebook.
What are your favorite tech gadgets?
All things photo… iPhone zoom lenses (although the same is to be available in the iPhone7- cant wait to see) we use the Moment Lens 60 but there are many on market, extra battery packs (constant photos require constant power boosts) and apps that help us market smartly such as RIPL, Canva or PicsArt also cool to use the magic of Mirrorly App. Also we love the idea of 360 cameras although not quite sure about their cool factor while wearing them;)
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
A team of 20 more techies;)! There’s always too much to do within our startup and never enough time! Seriously considered… we wish that pro cameras had GPS tagging option available this would make iPOLPO pro photos easier to upload and use.

Although iPOLPO is currently only available as an ios app, android users can easily access website (android is in development) and professional photographers can geotag photos using iPhoto or Lightroom programs and also quickly upload through our website. www.iPOLPO.com🙂
