Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
In-memory databases are super-fast niche products that allow you to query hundreds of millions of rows of data in under a second. They are the engines that power Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and Qlik, as well as being used by companies that have large internal databases and who desire superlative performance.
Typically at this stage a company turns to the big players – Microsoft, Oracle and the like, who in turn charge significant sums to deliver their systems.
Inmemory.net charges a fraction of the cost, delivers on performance and is easy to integrate with existing technology – which means that they are poised to disrupt a lucrative market.
How are you different and why will the company / product do well?
This is the classic story of one remarkable developer making a product that outperforms a product made by a large corporate team. Building your own high performance, .NET in-memory database is not a task to be taken lightly, but after three years of development, John Sullivan of Inmemory.net, has recently started taking on customers since mid 2015, including at least one Fortune 500.
Examples of Irish companies using the product include Home Store + More and Newbridge Silverware.
Inmemory.net have already been offered a buyout by a large BI company in the Gartner magic quadrant player (which they’ve turned down), and have clients in North America, South America and Australia.
Where are you based?
Inmemory.net are based in Cork. They are a five person core team, with resellers in other countries. John Sullivan himself worked in Sillicon valley for sometime before coming back to Cork and starting Interactive Reporting, a business intelligence software, which has been running for over 10 years. Inmemory.net was born out of long experience with the performance issues that many businesses face day to day with their reporting systems.
When was the company launched?
db launched just over 6 months ago and Interactive reporting has been around for 13 years.
What have been your biggest wins to date?

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
