Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
Ignition Wealth Ireland is the European subsidiary of Australia’s leading digital financial advice provider Ignition Wealth. We assist large financial institutions integrating new technology into their current processes and systems and we help them to reimagine how their customers navigate the financial advice experience.
How are you different?
Our parent company Ignition Wealth has a decade of experience providing digital financial advice in the mature Australian market, powering more than one million advice journeys to date. We combine that experience with our local expertise and a deep understanding of the needs of Irish and wider European institutions.
Why will you do well?
Global experience, local understanding. Ignition Wealth has proven experience in partnering with banks and leading pension funds. We benefit from a decade of experience combining this with the innovation and agility of a startup we hope will set us up well for success.

Where are you based?
We have recently established our European base at St Stephens Green in Dublin.
When was the company launched?
We began the search for our European base in Jan 2017 and formally announced our commitment to Dublin in July 2017.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
The market has been highly receptive to both our technology and skill set. We have exciting projects in the works – watch this space.
Who are you trying to attract to your product?
Our proposition is end customer-centric in its design but we distribute in partnership with existing large scale Financial Service players like Banks, Asset Managers, Financial Advice Networks and Employee Benefit Providers.
What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?
As we are in the innovation game, we try to be both current and a step ahead of what the market needs. I try keep these three things front of mind: Is this of value and relevant to our end customers, are we differentiated enough in what we do and are we staying true to our values, that compass is rarely wrong!
Tell us about your team?
We are currently in the process of building out the team locally in Dublin. We are looking for a distinct mix of technology and financial services experience. We have already secured key personnel who fit with our culture and love a challenge. We also work closely with our colleagues in the Australian team when in project delivery mode.
What are your plans for the future?
This year is all about Ireland. Our aim is to replicate the success our Australian parent has had in developing partnerships with large Institutions. We are pleased to see Irish financial institutions now actively exploring Fintech partnerships across many areas of the financial services ecosystem.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
From a professional point of view we are working on some voice-driven applications, more specifically its an AI driven ‘digital financial advice assistant’ which I am really excited about. From a personal point of view I’m like most people and can’t go anywhere without my phone. I’m also trying to get used to my new Samsung Smartwatch.
What tech gadgets would help you to help others?
We want to help people become more financially literate and make personal finance more engaging which we believe will lead to better financial outcomes. My hope is that we achieve this aim…!
