Can you explain to our readers what ICT Skillnet is?

Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet is a training network which actively engages a mix of the largest firms in ICT in Ireland along with fast growth SMEs all of whom are engaged in utilising cutting edge technologies which have a direct impact on national competitiveness.

When were you founded and how many companies are involved in the network now?

Founded in 2006 with over 160+ companies from the ICT Sector involved in the network.

How many students have you trained to date?

We have trained 3000+ people to date.

Where do the training courses take place?

Our training programmes take place in a number of places across the country. Courses could be hosted by a member company at their place of work, in a training room or on a college campus.

How many training courses are currently available?

There are a number of training courses ranging from short 1-5 day courses up to MSc level training programmes.

All courses are aimed at those in employment.

What services can you offer employers?

Why should students choose an ICT Skillnet course?

All courses are aimed at those in employment.  We subsidise every course thereby reducing course fees over a whole host of industry relevant training courses.  Our college programmes are designed by a collaboration of academia and industry and therefore are industry relevant and immediately applicable in the workplace.

You have a training course in Cloud Enterprise Architecture starting in September. Can you tell me more about that?

The BSc in Cloud Enterprise Architecture is a Level 7 degree programme which is delivered primarily online and takes just 3 semesters to complete.  It was designed by industry and works very much from an applied learning concept meaning candidates can make an immediate impact in their workplace.

Cloud Architects must possess an appropriate range of technical skills coupled with a good working understanding of how enterprises use Information Technology in back-office operations and in commercial activities and applications and this programme provides the opportunity to cover all this.
