Describe the company – the elevator pitch …

Gladius is a decentralized DDoS protection and Content Delivery Network. We allow people all around the world to rent out their unused bandwidth by downloading our software and running it on their PC. By running our software they become a part of our DDoS protection and Content Delivery Network to protect and accelerate websites.

How are you different?

We allow companies to “pay-as-you-go” rather than a pay a monthly subscription. We also allow pools of nodes to set their own prices, creating competition between pools to have the lowest price for the best services. We want to have thousands if not millions of nodes all around the world, allowing content to be cached extremely close to site visitors and creating a network with enough bandwidth to stop any DDoS attack.

Why will you do well?

With the competition between pools and our “pay-as-you-go” model we can be extremely competitive with current providers. In addition, with great incentives for nodes to up and run Gladius, people cannot wait to start running our software.

Where are you based?

We have an international team but we mainly work out of Washington, D.C.

When was the company launched?

The company was launched in May 2017.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

Our biggest wins have been releasing our Alpha product and receiving very positive feedback from our followers. In addition, we had recent partnership and investment from Krypton Capital which will help us with long term company growth and product development.

Who are you trying to attract to your product?

We want to attract two types of people. For nodes in the network we really want to encourage every day people to run our software and earn some extra money. We are working with the mindset that even people with little computer knowledge should be able use our product. We also want to attract companies and website owners who are tired of paying outrageous monthly fees to use the Gladius network instead.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Successful businesses start with a passion for creating your product. Being motivated and passionate about something can sell a product/business.

Tell us about your team

We have an international team of about 30. The 3 founders Max (CEO), Alex (CTO), and Marcelo (COO) all have strong technical backgrounds. Alex and Marcelo focus on development as well as their positional duties while Max focuses mainly on business. Our marketing managers, Ori and Nadav from Inbound Junction, an Israeli based marketing company, and are phenomenal for marketing and community outreach. We also have developers with 20+ years of experience each leading development of the Gladius platform. The rest of the Gladius teams consists of business and technical advisors who are very active in the project.

What are your plans for the future?

We plan to further expand our team as well as develop more partnerships with websites and get them using Gladius. We are on track to release our beta in March 2018 with the full release in August.

What are your favorite tech gadgets?

One of our favorite tech gadgets is the Raspberry Pi. Not only is it an incredibly useful device for developers, it has a large humanitarian impact by providing computing to people in developing countries for a very low cost.

What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?

One of our goals is for our software to be able to run on a raspberry pi as well as mobile devices. We eventually want to expand our platform to all devices.
