How are you different?
Our difference lies in the fact that we are not just about aesthetics – we design from the inside out, which normally results in a good number of patents per client. We also have a unique insight into the crossover between R&D and Marketing. Often these two sides of the business have different outlooks on how a product/project should progress. Our extensive experience in working with both ‘camps’ allows us to seamlessly bring the needs of both sides together to deliver the optimum product for the marketplace and for the end user.
Why will the company do well?
Our company has been on the go for the past 25 years. We’ve weathered many economic downturns and have come out fighting. We are currently experiencing strong year on year growth, partnering our clients for significant periods of time (some of our clients have been with us for 20 years), and delivering not only multiple international design awards, but products that are reaping rewards in the marketplace. The core of our business is world class excellence in tight time-frames. We continue to deliver on this 25 years later and this is what our clients value the most.

Where are you based?
In the centre of Dublin city. Dublin 1.
When was the company launched?
What have been your biggest wins to date?
I guess our biggest wins are around client retention. We have very many long standing relationships with key clients who either keep coming back for more or we have established full time working arrangements (for those of our partners who are full time innovators!). We have enjoyed the evolution of these relationships into hugely strong partnerships where learning on both sides has led to strengthened positions in the marketplace – long may they continue to grow and evolve!
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your service?
We generally work with R&D Managers or Marketing Managers from the FMCG, Medical/Life Sciences, ICT and industrial sectors. Where we significantly add value is enhancing the innovative output of R&D teams at the early stage of product development and then translating this work into fully marketable products for the frontline teams.
Tell us about your team?
Our team is brilliant! We have a great mix of product designers, design engineers, innovation experts, visual and brand communicators. We have a great team made up of graduates through to highly experienced designers on the team with a broad range of industry experience and international awards between them all. The energy in the office is always high and to blow off steam we all do activities together like cycling, climbing, surfing, adventure sporting or being big gastro heads!
What are your long term plans for your company?
We are all about growth and new markets. We recently opened a new base in the UK and are also exploring opportunities further afield in Europe and growing our US base of work. We are continuously growing our team of designers and our plan is to be up there with the best of the best globally.
The key design challenge was to create a high-tech product that felt as easy and intuitive to use as a traditional optical microscope. pic.twitter.com/n11P2Pshit

What are your favourite tech gadgets?
Given that we are product designers our definition of ‘tech gadgets’ can be quite broad. For me, it’s all about two wheeled locomotion. I love motorbikes!
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
At the moment what I would LOVE is the Ducati Diavel Carbon. It would certainly make my drive to work better. http://www.ducati.com/bikes/diavel/diavel_carbon/index.doHow do people get in touch with you?
