Business Showcase: Blocworx

Describe the company – the elevator pitch?

Blocworx is a cloud-based piece of software that helps enterprises leverage digital tracking capabilities to track, automate and optimise business processes.

We transform the manual efforts done on paper and old software into flexible digital forms that allow businesses to reduce duplication, create timely & accurate reports, maintain compliance and achieve paperless quality management systems. The dynamic and flexible nature of Blocworx also allows our clients to create custom/bespoke digital versions of their processes.

How are you different?

What makes us different is that quite often we do not need to write any code to provide solutions for businesses. The scope of these digital requirements can vary greatly. Our form builder isn’t just a simple form creator with some validation rules. It’s a highly advanced product builder that has been 3 years in the making. Building entirely new scenarios is very easy for us and even for our clients who wished to be trained up. We have made digital transformation a simple, affordable process for all. Blocworx has the capability of disrupting many existing coded solutions.

Why will you do well?

When people trial Blocworx, they are fascinated with the ability to quickly customise their system within minutes. We keep the recurring cost of IT requirements down. Instead of hiring consultants or software engineers to make small changes, you can define your process in Blocworx, input rules, add special functionality to fit your requirements and simply track these to use endlessly.

Additionally, we’ve made the digitalisation process very straightforward, focussing on our user’s experience combined with advanced technical capabilities. Unlike other frameworks, our solution is very easy to use.

We listen to our clients and given the dynamic nature of our solution, we can build software requirements in front of you, or even show you how to build them yourself. We are passionate about helping businesses succeed with digital tracking. This gives them improved visibility, productivity and saves them time on administration resulting in a huge return on investment.

Where are you based?

We are headquartered in Limerick, Ireland.

When was the company launched?

We were founded in 2017 (Cartolytics), but we rebranded our company this year, 2020.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

We are working with Ireland’s largest telecommunications company, Eir. This company is the most technological and innovative brand in its sector in Ireland and the UK. We are also working with BorgWarner, who is a major multinational manufacturing company.

These brands see Blocworx as the best way to digitally track their production.

Who are you trying to attract to your product?

We target forward-thinking companies and managers that can identify potential to transform their process. We also like companies that currently use paperwork that could digitally transform their entire strategy and optimise their processes or paper-heavy portions of their operation.

Our solution is used in multiple sectors and departments such as Construction, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Food & Beverage, Film/Screen, Facilities Management, Compliance and HR.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

The Local Enterprise Office supports have been incredible for us. Join local business support groups and get networking. We’ve also connected with several commercial partners such as the Construction Federations Ireland (CIF), Nursing Home Ireland (NHI) and Small Firms Association (SFA), to help network, gain insights and acquire a competitive market edge.

Tell us about your team?

We have a mixture of enthusiast software developers, innovative solutions development managers, passionate marketing executives and creative product development engineers.

What are your plans for the future?

We plan to grow Blocworx and help more companies experience the potential of digital transformation.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

Currently, the no-touch infrared thermometers for temperature checking staff. We’ve linked Blocworx up to our temperature checker to screen visitors and employees coming in and out of our offices.

What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?

Any wearable GPS trackers as Blocworx is an effective data tracking tool but currently does not track live locations. This would greatly improve our asset and space management products. We would also love a very effective speech to text system to input information into Blocworx, one that is flawless with accents.

Anything else you’d like to add/we should have asked?

Yes – Why is digital transformation so important for business today? Ultimately, digital tracking means easier recording abilities with all your information accessible under one platform from anywhere, anytime. We are in an era where people want answers fast and information even quicker. Take an audit for example – you manually record all your data and then have to spend hours compiling paper folders or soft copies of information in preparation, as opposed to having all your information stored and backed up under one platform that produces reports for you with a click of a button.

If you haven’t tried a digital platform before we’d recommend you try a free trial of ours to see all the features you’re missing out on.
