Describe the company – the elevator pitch …

AdRem Software is one of the largest independent software developers in Poland. We are focused on our flagship NetCrunch network monitoring suite, which combines server, application, file, log and web monitoring in a single, agentless package.

How are you different?

As a small and independent company, we are able to pivot and react quickly to the rapidly changing monitoring and management space, and cater to the needs of our clients.

Why will the company / product do well?

Our NetCrunch network monitoring suite offers industry-leading scalability with an impressive feature to price ratio as evidenced by our 2016 Return on Investment Award from Network Computing. While competing products are limited to the low tens of thousands (and less on VM) in number of monitored sensors/elements their products can monitor, our NetCrunch server currently supports over 650,000 from a single VM. Our policy-based “Monitoring Packs” make managing large networks a breeze.

We are Microsoft, VMWare and Cisco partners, as well as the only mainstream network monitoring solution certified Cisco Compatible:

There is no better value in the network monitoring arena.

Where are you based?

We are based in Krakow, Poland

When was the company launched?

AdRem Software was founded in 1998 making software for Novell, and winning the “Best Commercial Application” award at the Novell Developers’ Contest in 1999 for our Server Manager product.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

We are represented in all market segments, with a strong presence in EDU and GOV. The ease of use of our software, and our ability to monit or literally every device in your network makes us a popular choice among people with diverse networks. Our software is being used to monitor
underwater scientific equipment, stadium turnstiles, food manufacturer’s refrigeration systems, and of course the common networking devices you can find at most firms.

Tell us about your team?

We are a self-funded and independent team of enthusiasts, with nearly all of our staff working in development and testing. All of our development is done in-house in Krakow, Poland.

What are you long term plans for your product / company?

We plan to parlay our superior scalability and limitless monitoring framework to move into the enterprise and MSP space.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

The Surface Pro line of tablets have been very popular with us, as they provide a great form factor with powerful functionality. We are also looking into mini-PCs, and have even done a blog post about using a mini PC to monitor a large, complex network to underscore the efficiency of our product and tiny network footprint.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

The core of our software is built on comprehensive support for SNMP up to and including SNMPv3. We have thousands of pre-compiled MIBs, as well as a built-in MIB compiler which makes for limitless SNMP monitoring capabilities. Our OpenMonitor feature lets you feed data in via API, and our text parsing expressions give you a powerful tool for log/file monitoring
and management.

A key feature of our software is the ability to run automatic corrective actions. You can restart services, run scripts, and reboot machines automatically. Conditional alerting and alert escalation allow you to create scenarios such as: a CRM service on a server goes down. NetCrunch restarts the service. If after 5 minutes it’s still down, NetCrunch reboots
the server. If 5 minutes later the problem still exists, the admin responsible for that part of the network is notified (SMS, email, desktop notification, etc). If after one hour the alert still exists, then it is escalated to his superior.
