BSI’s Cybersecurity and Information Resilience centre of excellence has announced new training courses for 2018/19. The new globally recognized training courses include Data Protection Officer; Incident Response for Managers; Incident Handler (EC Council); Certified Network Defender (EC Council); and exclusive to BSI in Ireland, a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) (EC Council) course.
Training in information security and compliance has grown as cyber literacy mounts and BSI has seen a growth of 83 per cent year to date in registrations for courses compared to last year. This is largely due to the increase in regulations such as the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018.
Commenting at the announcement, Tom Brett, Training Portfolio Manager at BSI said: “The breadth of specialized information security training now available at BSI is a testament to the increased significance placed on data protection. We provide course participants with the professional qualifications necessary for specialized roles in the sector. Our GDPR training series, developed in-house by our expert trainers, was very successful this year and a selection of our new courses, like the Incident Response for Managers, provides continuous training in this area.”
“We are in a unique position as the only official provider of classroom-based EC Council certified courses in Ireland and we offer the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certified courses as well. We are focusing on developing workshop-based training environments where participants can gain the practical skills necessary to advance in their positions. We look forward to implementing our new courses in the coming months and will continue to expand our training programme to ensure we meet the current and future needs of our industry.” concludes Tom Brett.BSI’s Cybersecurity and Information Resilience centre of excellence offers over 30 interactive training courses covering managerial security, technical security, information security and e-discovery and digital forensics. Courses range from a
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) to a Certified Ethical Hacker (ClEH) and an eDiscovery Project Management course. The duration of courses varies from a half day to five days and are classroom-based, on-site or tailored to specific client requirements.
Training courses are offered throughout Europe, in Asia, with Singapore to be announced shortly. In Ireland, they are available in Dublin and will expand in the coming months to include Cork, Galway and Limerick.
