Brexit boost as I.T. Alliance grows recruitment revenues by 40% to €14m

Annual revenues at the recruitment division of Irish owned I.T. Alliance Group grew by 40% to €14 million to December 31st, 2017. Following a record first quarter this year, I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services is forecasting revenues of €18 million for 2018.

Parent company I.T. Alliance Group reported 2017 revenues of €36m.

“Growth in our recruitment business has been driven by the upturn in the economy,” commented Paul Schmitz, chief sales officer at I.T. Alliance Group and head of I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services. “Companies which held off spending on IT during the downturn are now back investing in new technologies and upgrades.”

The recruitment division reports strong demand for business analysts to scope new investments; project managers to implement them on time and budget and network security architects/engineers to design and manage infrastructure security improvements and manage vulnerabilities around cyber threats.

Schmitz believes that Brexit has boosted the supply of IT talent available to Irish based organisations. “There is huge and growing demand for IT professionals across the Irish economy. However, because of the uncertainty caused by Brexit we have seen a sharp increase in the number of UK based professionals interested in working in Ireland during the week and returning home at the weekend.”

He added that increased confidence in the Irish economy means that skilled employees are now more prepared to change positions with greater frequency which is creating increased retention challenges and salary pressures on Irish based organisations.

Commenting on the impact of new regulations such as GDPR he said, “Our experience is that a lot of large corporates are well prepared but that some work still needs to be done. Our consultancy teams are advising clients daily as IT is key to compliance both as a business input and enabler to becoming compliant.”

Commenting on other drivers for growth in the recruitment division he added, “As a major technology company ourselves, clients like the fact that we are specialists in the sector and understand the IT market.”

Established in 2011 in response to demand from existing customers, I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services specialises in the supply of technology professionals, either full time or on a project basis, across the private and public sectors.

Its sister company, Auxilion specialises in consultancy and digital transformation and operates 24×7 managed services centres in Dublin and Sheffield.

Parent company I.T. Alliance Group, which supplies outsourcing services to the world’s largest outsourcers, employs approximately 550 people across its managed services, resourcing and digital transformation operations.
