Interesting interview with Nicholas Jackman from Bloxlive , see more great interviews here.
What is your background briefly?
I was an addict to consuming media from a young age. A chance Sunday Tabloid front page appearance in the early noughties ignited my addiction to being in the media. The business of media beats acting as a revenue stream, so…
Makes sense that I’d finally become addicted to directing what’s in the media too. A half-decade in radio, running newspapers. A decade pioneering in the digital nomad space, with HR, Marketing, Sales, Ghostwriting, Ghostvoicing, Interim Managing…

Why did you get involved with blockchain media?
40 countries later, it all brought me back to Malta. Around the same time, my “Golden Client” and mentor Gil Alter and our clients were pioneering the crypto trading video scene – Maybe a quarter billion views later, and I’m back on Malta…Malta is blockchain Island, and I hear the words bloxlive.tv…
I knew I was home.
Is Malta a blockchain island? Why?
Anecdotally yes, like witnessing many locals mine crypto on their phones, or me being able to offload BTC for cash by asking strangers in random bars, but Blockchain is systemic in Malta too.
Ireland and Malta now stand toe to toe as leaders in EU economic growth forecasts, but Malta’s government is smaller, more agile, better connected, has minimal legacy debt, and also has a track record in fast-tracking innovative legal frameworks. Yes like Ireland, it’s a traditional finance hub, but these guys know how to prepare.
Malta needs to import 40,000 foreigners annually to meet the skills gap their innovation has triggered, but housing infrastructure including fresh rental legislation is already in place…being a paradise place to live should be enough encouragement to do the rest.
The blockchain island regulatory framework wasn’t in the exact vision of those who conceived it. It was more careful, riding the line with the EU. We see the door opening now so that Blockchain / AI company registration in Malta will soon mean full EU launchpad rights. When I see that progress, when I see Malta drawing in giant Blockchain companies like Binance, and when I hear their MDs telling me, “We’re expanding Maltese operations,” I’m a strong believer that Malta has earned the “Blockchain Island” title.
The price of #bitcoin has returned above the $7,000 mark, but is the bottom in?

The scientists, lawyers and officials behind the framework, have a very strong dialogue with the business interests who push for reform of that framework. They work so closely in-fact, a recent high profile visitor from Israel’s Crypto Valley was blown away by how this varies from the Israeli competition… She admitted it’s a much more conducive environment for serving the needs of blockchain businesses.
The environment is tailoring to fit, everyone is involved in progressing the identity, the bars, the communities, the Dapps, the MDIA, even Malta’s film industry and the endless visits from the rockstars of the global crypto scene. I was walking up a quiet hill on a rare rainy day this time last year, an EOS Dapp owner literally fell from the sky, slipping rolling happily down by my feet. Indeed this crypto malarky has some slippery slopes, but changing the world for the better is a good wholesome interest I’d like to make the world addicted to via bloxlive.tv
1 min pitch for what you are doing now?
All I do all day is negotiate and direct content. We bring together the best news, views, interviews, events, academies, documentaries, comedy, and even blockchain movies into one “Blockchain Content Monster” video stream. Now I’m integrating the bloxlive.tv stream into sites around the world, allowing partner sites monetise the stream…Essentially joining forces to entertain, educate and ready the world for imminent change. Africa today, hard-coded Mandarin subtitles in the pipeline for 2020.
Why do you think blockchain is such a powerful idea?
Its ability to excite scientific and business minds into materialising 1000s of new “what ifs?”…that’s why blockchain excites me. Personally and this is not financial advice, when some tokens came down 99.96% from their ATHs, and you look at the fundamentals of that blockchain project, they became value propositions. That excites me also.
Why shouldn’t I spread the message of an exciting world?
Why not do it in an exciting safe way, whilst providing monetisation and free speech safe harbour for our blockchain video creator partners/influencers/celebs/geniuses? I’m thankful the bloxlive.tv owners have given me this opportunity to take them global.
In this short video from the latest episode of the #48show @jimmysong explains why he is wearing the famous cowboy hat.
The first time he wore it, @pete_rizzo_ was making fun of him during the whole interview.

If it all goes well, what does ‘good’ look like for you personally in 1 – 3 years time?
My little girl will be 6-years-old enjoying a happy life on this extraordinary island. If I’ve done what I’ve come to do right, then I’d hope to have her future secured, and personally be able to take the time to refocus on my other passions like acting.
How can people find out more about you & your work?
