Bioscience for Business – Centre for Applied Bioscience Research has officially launched

The ethos of the newly rebranded Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR) is to be the leading hub for transforming cutting-edge science and technology into real-world applications. Taking an all-island approach and specialising in supporting Irish businesses in solving scientific and technical challenges, CABR partners with food, biotech and life science companies across the island of Ireland, driving innovation and growth.

CABR, previously Shannon ABC, is ideally placed to support Irish businesses on their innovation journey through their focus on the Biosciences, cutting-edge equipment and a dedicated industry led team.

Marina Donohoe, Divisional Manager – Research & Innovation at Enterprise Ireland commented“We are thrilled to celebrate the rebranding of Shannon ABC to the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research. This new name reflects the Centre’s pivotal role in advancing innovation and addressing the complex scientific and technical challenges faced by Irish businesses.

‘“CABR continues to be a cornerstone of the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network, offering cutting-edge expertise, state-of-the-art equipment, and a dedicated team that empowers companies to bring innovative solutions to life. Enterprise Ireland remains committed to a strong and continued partnership with CABR as they build on their legacy of success and drive future innovation.”

The Centre, established in 2008, is the only Technology Gateway collaborating across two Technological Universities, Technological University of the Shannon and Munster Technological University. Dr Tim Yeomans, Centre Manager for CABR said ‘Shannon ABC has been a fundamental support for hundreds of companies across Ireland for the past 16 years, the re-naming to the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research will provide a great springboard to support hundreds more’.”
