Lau and Leimer often write about important trends in the fintech world, which makes them well positioned to author a book like this. The early chapters outline where we are, where we need to go, and what good could look like. Gender, race and age are among the key factors that are highlighted and discussed. The issues are explained well and concisely, helping to reader to be well versed in why we need to try and make the necessary changes as soon as possible.

Chapter 7 also addresses ‘Leadership for Good’ which is a key component for any company which is sincere about effecting real change. There are some strong B-corp leadership examples out there to ensure that there is a credible path to real and meaningful change. Lau and Leimer are also aware of the impact of Asian companies, Antgroup and others, with useful sidebars illustrating positive projects such as Antforest, and their successful reforestation initiatives.

This book is timely, logical and part of a growing wave of thought leaders helping to show the way towards a more sustainable way of doing business. We all need to be cognisant of the issues raised in this book, and the authors have created an informative and helpful guide to try and help to nudge us back onto a better path. Read it as soon as possible.

Bradley Leimer writes and speaks about banking and technology, and advises start-ups and major corporates. He is former Head of Innovation and FinTech at Santander US and was named a Top 20 Social Influencer in Fintech by Financial Brand, as well as a Top 100 Fintech Leader by City A.M. He lives in California.
