Over 350 delegates attending the opening day of BelTech 2018 at Belfast Waterfront have heard how high-quality design is now a fundamental factor in the successful growth of ambitious businesses during this era of cognitive computing.
Technology experts have flown in to Northern Ireland from around the world to speak at and attend the two-day summit.
Keynote speaker Peter Fossick, design director at Factotum Design, opened the conference with the message ‘data is the new oil’. He said that Belfast has the potential to create its own ‘Silicon Hub’, but that companies need to invest in design to help maximise the attractiveness of their products and services.
The second day of the event (Friday 4th May) will be focused on education, with 400 post-primary students set to attend inspirational sessions delivered by local and global high tech organisations on how to achieve sustainable digital career paths.
