When is it on?
Wednesday, 7 June 2017, 8am-1pm, The Banking Hall, 14 Cornhill, London. Banking Redefined will be held in the Grade II listed Main Hall, which was designed in the 1930s with a unique art deco charm, and has a mezzanine level with a view of the Bank of England.
How many years has it been going?
Operating hundreds of events annually around the globe, ThoughtWorks is proud to launch Banking Redefined in London this year. This is the result of a continued focused effort on specific industry sectors, including retail banking and FinTech.
What was the inspiration to start it?
At ThoughtWorks, we have been champions in transforming companies and industries over the past 20 years, and are beginning the journey with companies such as AIB, Barclay’s and Secco to adapt to the current seismic shift in banking where consumers have more control. Intelligent banking, intention economy, hyper-personalisation and social justice are changing the way we view the world, the way we use technology to tackle our biggest challenges and the way we interact with citizens, products, and businesses. With technology augmenting humanity and the world around us, traditional constraints no longer exist. Banking Redefined offers the opportunity for others to join the discussion on how the entire banking industry, from startups to banks, can create more trust and transparency with consumers.

What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?
This year, Banking Redefined explores the tension between what’s possible today and a bank’s long-term strategy. We will discuss best practices, how to start and where to go, particularly when the unimaginable is created in weeks. We’ll provide tools for executives to take their current digital foundation to seize growth opportunities. Industry leaders speaking include:
Michael Harte, CTO – Head of Group Innovation, Barclays
Emma Movitz, Head of Group Function Insight, Nordea
Gavin Littlejohn,Chair, Open Banking
Megan Caywood, Chief Platform Officer, Starling Bank
And more to be confirmed
What opportunities are on offer for people/startups/investors and companies attending?
There will be a limited number of attendees to allow for richer engagement and more personal connections. Banking Redefined will be an opportunity for people to exchange experiences in order to learn from it, and address the seismic shift happening in the banking industry in their companies.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Come with an open mind and a collaborative approach, and don’t dress in a suit. In order to put customer innovation at the center, we need to shift the culture entirely.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
