Reports are surfacing that Apple has delayed the watchOS 2 update that was planned for today after finding a bug in the software. The new software was due to be released concurrently alongside iOS 9 however it has now been shelved until further notice as the team at Apple work hard to resolve the issue. Here is the official Apple statement.
“We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly.”
It will no doubt be disappointing for new Apple Watch owners who were looking forward to native apps, third party complications and new watch faces. The iOS 9 update is still planned to go ahead and there is no need to panic. You can bet they will be working hard at apple to get watchOS 2 out as soon as possible.
