How many years has it been going?
The conference is entering its seventh year.
What was the inspiration to start it?
The event was inspired by two women with strong links to Ballybunion, the late?Mary Cummins, Irish Times journalist and the late Joan Kennelly, founder and editor of Kerry’s Eye Newspaper.
The event celebrates the lifetime achievements of strong influential women who have shaped the Irish media landscape, and also brings together influential journalists, broadcasters, corporate leaders and politicians for a series of talks looking at the challenges faced by women working in the public life.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
Attendees can look forward to interesting talks and engaging panel discussions on topics such as: ‘Women in STEM’, ‘The Future of Social Media’, as well as gain insights from bestselling authors. Guests can also look forward to a Gala dinner on Saturday 27th, where the annual award ceremony will take place.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
Attendees have the opportunity to network with influential people in the industry, as well as hear the latest thinking in journalism and social media. Attendees will also be involved in discussions around wider issues affecting Irish society such as Brexit and Ireland’s housing crisis.
Who will be speaking?
Speakers include Mairead McGuinness MEP, Bertie Ahern, Miriam O’Callaghan, Justine McCarthy and Katie Hannon, to name just a few.
