Android Activations pass 700,000 per day

Back in July we were told by Google that Android was activating more than 550,000 devices a day. While many have questioned whether Android could continue this trend or had it in fact reached it’s peak, Head of Android, Andy Rubin today announced Android has now passed 700,000 activations a day!

The 700,000 is for new devices only. It does not include devices that were sold on or had a different ROM installed. It is just new devices activated each day.

With Ice Cream Sandwich just released and some great looking devices in the pipeline it shouldn’t be too long until we see 1 million Android devices activated every day.
