Ammeon, a leading systems integrator and delivery partner for cloud and DevOps transformation projects has partnered with Iricent, a leading SDN (Software Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Functions Virtualisation) specialist, to deliver NFV related services including a hosted Management and Orchestration (MANO) service.
The Iricent MANO as a Service (MaaS) high availability, multi-tenant platform enables telecommunications service providers to rapidly test, demo, trial and go-live with new customer services requiring only a common PC type device on the customer premises. Everything else including the virtual network functions (VNFs) are deployed, managed, operated and supported from the cloud. The catalogue of virtual network functions (VNF) leverages the wider Iricent eco-system and includes vRouter, vSwitch and vFirewall among others.
Commenting on the partnership, Fred Jones, Ammeon CEO, remarked, “MANO as a Services will fundamentally change how network services are delivered at the edge. It is a realization of the promise of virtualizing network functions and the infrastructure management capabilities provided by OpenStack. We are excited to be partnering with Iricent to bring this service to the market. It is an important part of our managed service strategy.”
Ger O’Byrne, co-founder and CEO of Iricent, commented, “Networking, like compute and storage before it, is being virtualized and moving to the cloud. Service Providers who want to avail of the opportunities brought about by these developments require new network and cloud infrastructure, cloud deployment services and related know-how. Iricent MaaS is ideally suited to service providers, both wholesale and retail, who want to rapidly deploy NFV services. We are delighted to partner with Ammeon who have an excellent track record providing system integration services to the telecoms industry and a wealth of knowledge and experience in cloud deployments”.
Under this agreement, Ammeon’s large team of deployment specialists and system integration consultants will work with Iricent to deploy, integrate and operate the Iricent MaaS platform for customers deploying NFV services. The companies will also provide services to those customers who prefer to deploy the solution in house.
