AirSpeed Telecom is investing €1.5 million in its core network facilities across the island of Ireland which will enable the delivery of Multi-Gb broadband connectivity.
To facilitate the delivery of Multi-Gb connectivity, AirSpeed Telecom has signed a deal with Coillte to deliver high speed services from Coillte’s fibre-enabled tower on Threerock Mountain. AirSpeed Telecom will roll out 10Gb connectivity over the AirSpeed network.
Last year, AirSpeed Telecom opened an office in Belfast to deliver an all-Ireland service to clients such as Irish Distillers and JAM Media. The company also recently partnered with Rainbow Communications to deliver 200Mbps connectivity to the Argyle Business Centre in Belfast.
The investment will also be used to facilitate a range of additional services such as security and cloud based firewall services which AirSpeed Telecom can proactively manage, removing the need for companies to maintain security internally.
AirSpeed Telecom employs 47 across three offices in Dublin (Citywest), Cork (CIT Campus) and Belfast and clients include RTE, TG4, HEANet, Dairygold and NCSS (BreastCheck).
Commenting on the announcement, Liam O’ Kelly Managing Director of AirSpeed Telecom said:
“As a telecommunications company, it is essential that we are at the cutting edge of technology in this sector, so we run a continual programme of investment to improve resilience, increase speed and implement new networking technologies. Our customers are increasingly looking for scalability and resilient connectivity and because we aren’t a single-technology provider – we use fibre, DSL and radio”
“We can deliver customers technology resilience without their needing to use a separate carrier. This €1.5 million investment underpins our commitment to our customer base and also helps us deliver strong Service Level Agreements.”
