AI, Robotics and Automation and the Future of Work

What will you be talking about at this event?

AI, Robotics and Automation: The future of work will be in being human. Today our work gives us purpose, routine and definition. As intelligent systems disrupt more and more of what we define as work, how will we add economic value? What will be the role of work in our lives? Are we ready to pursue unstructured qualitative lives? The future of work has much for us to look forward to, but we also have much to prepare for.

This session looks at how/why emerging technologies are driving the change in “work” as we know it, what the new work environment might look like and how we must prepare ourselves, our teams, our businesses and our children to survive and thrive in this new environment.

What inspired you to attend it?

The success of last years event and the opportunity to network with industry and academic colleagues. There will also be a competition for a Startup to win a trip to China. (link HERE) Startups can avail of the 2Day ticket for €50 using the code BIOT2020.

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?

Gartner, Forrester Research, IDC, Forbes Tech, IrishTechNews, The Verge, Wired and following relevant hashtags on Twitter

How can people find out more about what you are working on?

There is lots of great content on the internet but I recommend the videos and publications by Cognizant’s Center for The Future of Work as a great place to start and a book called The Future of Work by Darrell M. West
