Following on from its rebrand in late-2015, Actavo, the leading international strategic operations partner, is pleased to announce the appointment of Donal McCarthy as I.T. Director. Donal’s focus will be to drive the transformation of the business systems strategy, architecture, technology, security and operations to provide a platform for the efficient operation and future growth of the company.
Donal has a proven track record in the I.T. industry, having started his career with large companies, including AIB and Trintech, to develop their I.T. infrastructure/networks. He joined the Actavo team in 2014 as Head of Innovation within the Actavo Network & In-Home Division, where he drove the innovation function. In January 2016, Donal was promoted to I.T. Director at Actavo.
Donal commenced his career with the AIB Group I.T. team, with responsibility for internet strategy. He was Professional Services Manager at Trintech, where he was responsible for implementing payment card acquiring systems worldwide. In 1999, Donal successfully set-up Ireland’s first multi-channel e-business centre of excellence with ebeon, a subsidiary of eir. He was Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Inspired Gaming Group in 2001 – which grew from eight employees to 2,600 by 2006 – with full responsibility for the IT strategy, infrastructure, product development & systems operation. During his time with Crowley Carbon, he acted as the Chief Technology Officer to help drive the development of their product set, winning the SEAI Innovation award in 2010.
