Blockchain Pyeongchang Forum 2019,

Innovation for Local Economy and Policy Based on Blockchain

Blockchain Pyeongchang Forum 2019 (BPF 2019) is held at Pyeongchang Alpensia Resort, Gangwon-do Province, South Korea from January 28th to 29th to share its vision for the 4th Industrial Revolution with world’s famous blockchain industry officials. The forum is hosted by Gangwon-do Province Government and sponsored by Korea Digital Currency R&D(KDC).

The forum was designed to discuss major global issues in blockchain industry and provide a vision for the future industry under the theme of “smart real economy, future of blockchain”. Pyeongchang Forum 2019 is composed of five sessions: “Creation of Smart City”, “Blockchain & Local Economy Platform”, “Commercial Use of Local Currency”, “Infrastructure Convergence” and “Blockchain Policy”. Also, Exhibitions and road shows will be held as well as lectures and discussions of the world’s great scholars.

Choi Moon-soon, the governor of Gangwon-do Province, said, “Gangwon-do province would build authentic global brand in blockchain industry. Also, the forum would able to give deep impressions to the world with another international event as a host of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.”

BPF2019 officials said, “This forum is meaningful in that it solves the problem of information congestion on block chains, which is considered a core area of the fourth industry, and presents global standards in a single location.” And also “We expect that Gangwon Province will become a hub of global blockchain through BPF 2019 after Gangwon Province successfully hosted the Olympics.”
