The Android version of the Sky+ App received an update this morning finally bringing some features that have been present on the iOS version for some time.

Sky have been late to the party with Android versions of their Apps and they are often deprived of features that iOS users enjoy.

Thankfully Sky have added some of those missing features to this version of Sky+. The main one is the ability to use your Android device as a remote control for your Sky Box. Once both devices are connected to the same WiFi network you can pair them as such and your device will have access to your planner and it’s content and to an additional screen in the App that allows you to control your Sky Box via gestures and swipes.

Other missing features are promised for future releases and we still wait for Sky to drop the nonsense of not supporting rooted phones.
