BT is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Primary Science Fair, a key feature of the renowned BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE), taking place from January 08 – 11, 2025 in Dublin.
Celebrating 25 years as sponsor and custodian, BT is encouraging primary school students from 3rd to 6th class to collaborate, brainstorm, and create exciting STEM projects to be in with a chance to represent their school at the Primary Science Fair in the RDS, Dublin, in January.
The Primary Science Fair was created 25 years ago to ignite a passion for STEM in younger students and provide an opportunity for an entire class of up to 30 students to showcase their projects together within the environs of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition. Projects can explore various scientific areas like living things, materials, environmental care, and energy and forces. The important deadline for submission is Friday, November 1st, and schools will be notified in November if their projects will be showcased at the Fair in January 2025.
Principal Orla Whelton from Ballyroe NS, Co. Cork,?said, “I highly encourage any schools considering entering the Primary Science Fair to do so. Our school has participated for the last eight years, and it’s an amazing experience for the students. It introduces them to the world of STEM and fosters a love for science that continues through secondary education and beyond.”
Mari Cahalane, Head of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, added, “For 25 years, the Primary Science Fair has been a key part of the BTYSTE, offering a platform for young minds to develop a lifelong passion for STEM in a non-competitive environment. Get your class together, start brainstorming, and let the fun and learning begin! We hope many participants will go on to take part in the BTYSTE and encourage as many schools as possible to enter.”
