Marketing has no limits and bounds these days. The horizon has further expanded since the online form of marketing came to the forefront. Gone are the days when only orthodox marketing ideas were encouraged. Having a virtual significance is the order of the day. Online marketing includes websites and social media forums, and it is applicable for any business, big or small. The reason why this has gained so much ground is that more people have unrestricted access to the internet on their smartphones and laptops and spend most of their time on it.
Top Twitter Tips
The outreach is global and convenient, and everything happens with a click of a button. Whenever social media is being talked about, one name that immediately comes to mind is Twitter. It allows the tweets of a maximum of 140 words using which you have to express your opinion. It can be ably supplemented with images and videos, though. It is all the more applicable for a business related to photography.

Many famous photographers got initiated to their clients through Twitter and gone on to forge a very productive professional relationship with them. The power of social media, especially Twitter, can never be sidelined. There are some tips and tricks that you can follow to use Twitter judiciously for photography.
Add context and hook the viewer
As a photographer, when you are posting some pictures on Twitter, make sure you put in a small and engaging description. No one likes a dry post. Add context to it by including appropriate keywords. You should also emphasize on asking your followers to like, comment, and retweet by including a ‘click here’ option for completing the action. On the outset, it might look a little too appealing, but people generally don’t do something unless they are told explicitly. Therefore, make sure you include the line wherever possible.
Limited use of hashtags
The utility of hashtags is mainly to optimize your tweet so that it becomes more visible on using certain search keywords. In the field of photography, there are always some trending relevant hashtags that you can include in your post. Chances of anyone looking for something along those lines stumbling upon your photos is more. If they like your content, they will even start following it.
However, it is not a good idea to include a hashtag in front of every word of a post. A maximum of 2-3 hashtags per tweet should be sufficient in achieving the required popularity. Therefore, judicious usage is of paramount importance here.
Frequent image posting
Like mentioned before, Twitter is a platform that allows vehement image posting, and as a photographer, you should take full advantage of that. You should also look to put your best foot forward while doing so. Do not post anything and everything. Filter out your content and put up the best pictures. Make sure it is done frequently, though. Only then you will create the impression of being active on social media. This will also improve your follower’s participation with you.
Interaction is the key
The word social media has a key aspect, socialization, which gives you the option to interact with other users of the same platform on a common forum. You should ask for likes, comments, and retweets and also respond to them when someone does so. Talking to your followers creates an impression that you value their words and opinions.
They tend to feel important, and it will ensure that they check out each and every post of yours and respond accordingly. Your popularity on Twitter will also increase markedly, something that you want for your photography business to flourish.
Target audience
You must identify your niche or target audience so that you can post more relevant pictures on your Twitter account. For example, if you are a fashion photographer, you should make an effort to include more followers who are into fashion and belong to a particular age group that it will appeal to. Similarly, for food photography, appropriate followers should be targeted, as well. You might have 1000s of followers, but if they are not from your target audience group, then your Twitter marketing cannot be deemed as effective.
Mention others
It is not advisable to only keep posting your photographs on Twitter. Lend a helping hand to someone else who needs the push as well. Again, isn’t that the point of social media after all? Follow the rule of 9/10 here. For every 9 photographs that you post, the 10th one can be of someone else, preferably of a similar niche. Since you will be promoting them, you can expect the same from their side. Thus, you can reach out to more number of people. It has a certain amount of humanitarian appeal as well, which your followers will definitely like.
Twitter Analytics
The analysis is an essential part of any data presentation, and Twitter is no different. The ideal way to know the associated logistics in relation to your photography account on Twitter is to engage it in Twitter Analytics. It will give you accurate data about your followers, which include parameters like where they are from, how many times they have liked to comment on your posts, how many retweets you have, during what time have your followers been most active etcetera. Using this method, you can improve your follower base significantly.
Post at the right time
Once you track down the time during which your followers are most active, it is a good idea to post your tweets during that time itself. You can ensure that the maximum of your followers sees it immediately, and you can even engage in a conversation then. Posting at the right time is crucial.
Post same content multiple times with this trick
If you look at the general trend, if you post a photograph once, it will garner some likes and comments, but people will forget about it soon. If you want it to get registered in your follower’s subconscious, it is essential that you post it multiple times. You cannot use the same post, though, as it will lead to redundancy. You should be able to modify and edit your posts in such a way that even though the words change, they still imply the same thing. Particular posts will gain popularity by this method.
Once you follow these tips on your Twitter handle, you are bound to notice a significant increase in the number of followers on your photography page.
